AMD CPU Compatibilty Question?

I have a MSI K7T Pro 2A (KT133 Chipset) and wanted to upgrade my processor to a higher speed Duron. AMD has a socket 1.3GHz Duron (200FSB), however, it is not not listed as tested with my Motherboard at AMD's website.

Is my board so old that AMD did not test this combo? Will this processor still be compatible with my board?

It will probably work. It could have some issue though.

AMD can't possibly test every mobo with every cpu , especially with older mobos. It would be best if you went to MSIs' Message Board and asked if it would work, someone there probably has tried it or knows some info on it.
 
The 1.3GHz Duron is based on the Ath XP Palomino core ,if your mbrd can run them then you'll be ok🙂.............mind you, only problem might be the x13 mulitplier.....
Yeah you need to go to MSIs site....nm I had a look myself😉

Looking at the cpu support for your mbrd here it can't run any Morgan Duron🙁 ,wierd ,can't see why as it can run a 1.4GHz(100MHz FSB) Tbird 😕
