Hey it could happen AMD could Take hold of the 64Bit market and dominate it but Intel wont let that happen .... dont forget everyone that the only reason we are using Intel Pentium 4 Chips today and can even afford a Pentium chip is because AMD's CPU's Came along and Slaped intel in the face for insulting us with Celerons !!!! ..
Now we all have Athlon XP's or Pentium4's ......

This is yet another good thing that AMD is doing for the CPU Industry ....Intel will soon bring out a 64 Chip of there own and not because they want to for us ... because they must to compete in the 64Bit consumer market that AMD has created by releasing the Athlon64

If intel had it there way and AMD never really got too the level they are now we would all be writing threads using Celeron based Systems and talking about how prentiums are soo darn expensive and only the elite can buy them

I dont want too sound like a Fan boy but think about it for a second Intel are talking about how we dont need 64Bit CPU's and that they dont think its time to release them now and 2005 is a better time to bring them into the market ...... you know what i say to intel .... i say

DONT TELL ME WHAT I WANT !!!! DONT TELL ME THAT I DONT NEED 64BIT CPU's Intel is aiming at the net user who doesn?t require fast CPU's or 64Bit systems but i am not just a net user i am a gamer and if i can have a better faster chip now then why should i wait 3 years so intel make more money on there 32Bit CPU's now when i can have 64 and not slow down in those RTS games when 5000+ units are running around the screan in a massive battle ... the 32Bit CPU falls too its knees trying to prosscess this Battle.

Everyone here should all be AMD Fanboys because intel has only given us price cuts has only given us better performance and will soon give us 64Bit CPU's only Because AMD gave us these things first .. and forced intel too do the same.

AMD = A Company for the Consumer and what the Consumer wants
Intel = A Company for the money and nothing but the money!

PS: Don?t flame me. These are just 1 persons views on the matter and dont reflect any facts or truth !!!

There is no need to repost this flamebait, is there?

It already has happened... Intel doesn't even have a 64-bit CPU worth buying... so AMD has the market cornered right now.

Call me crazy, but didn't you post this exact same message here in the thread about AMD and the 64-bit market ??

Why does your post deserve a new thread, but everyone else's doesn't?

Where's Intel's 64 bit desktop CPU? Oh, they don't have one. Where's IBM's 64 bit desktop CPU? Oh, they put it in a Mac

Hey .... it is spewed up crap but without AMD would we still be using Celerons?

Because intel would have never sold its Pentium's at affordable price's but the thing is even though AMD is here now and has brought competition into the market Intel are still ONLY Lowing prices and Increasing Performance AFTER AMD does ...
its almost like intel wouldn?t if they didnt need too ..... Thats the sad thing ... the CPU industry didnt really start taking off until AMD started the Speed war ... and made intel wake up and start working for our money!

and now where using 3Ghz Pentiums and not 1.2Ghz Celerons that we probably would be using if it hadnt been for AMD.

nobody is denying that competition is good for the consumer. but when you go around yelling ignorant quotes like, "amd has dominated the 64 bit market. " it makes you look stupid.

Since you cut and paste your post from another thread, I'll cut and paste my reply:

AMD is not what you say they are. They are a company first and foremost, and their goal is profits and market share like everone else. The reason they have lower prices and more price cuts is because they are the market follower (or, not the "market leader"). Intel basically owned the entire market for years before AMD became a serious competitor and threat (ie: the Athlon days). So, Intel has had a massive head start, both in market share and in R&D. As the perceived market leader, they can be late to the dance with a product, and still have the support of pretty much every major company (ie Dell, etc etc).

AMD has to be incredibly agressive with prices because their products are perceived as "inferior" by big companies. That and because Intel is so bullish, they will punish companies that don't stick with them (see: Dell when they briefly tried to use AMD chips).

If Intel were to go out of business today, do you think AMD would still charge prices that give them a hair of profit on every chip, or would their prices go way up, just like Intel chips in the Pentium 1 / 2 era and before? It's competition that drives AMD to do the things what they do, they are not the "Ben and Jerry's" of the CPU world.
