Thanks OP.

I wonder how many would feel comfortable with a "re-furb" hard drive, like this bundle has.

For those who have had good luck with TD and rebates, and are ok with $140 spread of 6 of them, nice deal. I wouldn't trust TD with all those rebates though. Even if some or all of them are mfg. rebates, there still seems to be problems. While you should take what you read on an internet forum with a grain of salt, the TD and rebate stories are to much to ignore.

Edit: Flatbroke brings up a good point, the HDD is a refurb. Out of curiosity, I checked shipping and it came in at $30.

Yeah, I know TD gets some heat on here about rebates but I've yet to have any trouble with one from them, always get my shipments in quickly and had an easier time RMA'ing items with them than with Newegg....take it for what its worth

I really think TD deals shouldn't be allowed here. They're not hot in any shape or form with their rebates.

Well I remembered i forgot the price on this so I came back to add it. I thought if there was a problem yall would find it. Good deal thought if you want to deal with the rebates.

I'm 3 for 5 with tigerdirect rebates. Chalk it up as a $500 computer, and the rest as free lottery tickets.

HAHAHAHAHA- PIECE OF JUNK PC has a REFURBISHED HARD DRIVE IN IT!

Maxtor / DiamondMax Plus 9 / 160GB / 7200 / 8MB / SATA-150 / OEM / Hard Drive (Refurbished)
This product has a limited warranty of 6 months for parts and 6 months for labor.

That has to be the most REDICULOUS bunch of garbage I EVER saw.

I purchase manufacturer refurbished drives in 5 and 10 packs when the price is especially attractive (and new drives as well), not the 'white label' no-name refurbs. I've had plenty of new drives fail, but relatively few refurbs. As long as it is being done to high standards, refurbs can have lower failure rates because known flaws or defects are fixed.

I don't see how one refurbished hard drive could turn a PC built from relatively high-end components into a 'REDICULOUS bunch of garbage' (nor do you, I suspect).

i wouldn't buy that pc because of the following:
crappy case
crappy psu
crappy hdd
crappy 512 ram
crappy cpu cooler
old out-featured motherboard

actually, you got to include all those "certified receipt" mailing costs and of course, extra $$ if you want your rebate faster.

td = lying, no good, dirty scumbags

ps > yeah yeah, some of you have no troubles with td; i say go ahead and keep purchasing from them; you will learn soon enough.....

considering these drives are supposedly manufactured in dust free labs, in countries that are dust free, one wonders how and who did the refurbishing? perhaps polishing the metal exterior?

will and have bought many different refurb or open box items from various companies, but would never ever ever buy a refurb, return or open box hard drive

and this isn't a slam against TD, i do business with them all the time and have never been screwed

You can get a better Dell deal with 19inch monitor for about $550 with P4 820, dual core, 1gb memory 80gig sata and a DVD reader through the state bar.
