As most of you are aware, having to physically connect the L1 bridges on the CPU became a thing of the past when the Thoroughbred-B became available (assuming you were using a mobo with the nforce2 chipset...i dont know about other chipsets). My question is, what about Barton CPUs? Can the multiplier bechanged on an nforce2 board without physically changing the CPU (like the THoroughbred-B could), or must the L1 bridges be connected like the Thoroughbred-A?

So as long as i'm using an nforce2 mobo, i don't have to physically unlock a Barton...thanks guys.

you can select a multiplier in half-steps? what mobo are you using?...or is this nothing new? sorry, i'm new to the AMD scene, so i've never had to mess with multipliers before.

nForce2s, KT400s and KT600s can and do unlock Tbred-As, Tbred-Bs and Bartons without modifications.
