This is nice to see, but Q1 seems very general for mantle. Otherwise I really like the overdrive redesign, it looks like it is making strides towards being more like afterburner.
 
Looks half decent, shame Nvidia charge so much for the same amount of performance though because if they didn't I would buy off them just for the variable V-Sync.

Varies by country and day.
In many countries, 290 prices are more similar to MSRP level (plus taxes and local price differences), meaning they are often significantly cheaper than NV cards.
 
It's obvious that Mantle is delayed because of the sad state of BF4. They really have no choice but to fix the core gameplay first because it is horrifyingly broken at this time.
 
If it comes out on the 14th, then AMD delayed it to boost sales for sure. [Bad] move imo

Actually seems weird that AMD would release a 14.1 driver in February or March. IIRC, they've delayed a little bit into the next month once or twice but I'd be surprised if they named the driver 14.1 and didn't release it until the end of Feb. or into Mar.
 
I am thinking we will be seeing driver leaks by the end of this month at least.

I don't think it would do much to boost sales. BF4 is already bundled with Kaveri isn't it?

The simple fact that a sub $200 APU will be able to play BF4 at decent settings, and be a pretty excellent HTPC chip is going to boost sales more than Mantle. It may be time to make a SFF HTPC and play with one of these things.

No, I think they're going to ride the Mantle buzz as much as possible. No sense, from their perspective, to release it a month before and having it die down before they release Kaveri.
 
Seems that they would want BF4 mantle and the driver to be released before or with Kaveri. That way they get better performance out of the gate.

While this seems likely then why bring the "december" target in the first place? This unforeseen delay caused by EA is making it better for Kaveri getting fps increase out of the gate sure but I dont think it was intended this way.
