Dankk's reaction is my first impression...but I think I'll try it just to see if it's worth despising. What's really annoying is that they don't note the introduction of this "Gaming Evolved Control Center" in the driver release notes, so many people are going to end up installing something that's about as useful as bloatware without even realizing it.

They don't mention it in the driver release notes, but they do, however, mention it in the installer itself. The only nuisance is that you have to select the Custom install option and uncheck the program in order to keep it off your machine.

As far as I'm concerned, the "AMD Gaming Evolved Control Center" and the "Nvidia Geforce Experience" programs, or whatever they're called, are designed for less-than-savvy PC gamers who are too clueless to manually adjust their graphics settings. That's pretty much all they do, right? If there's some kind of wizardry involved that magically makes my games run faster, then I'll give it a try; otherwise I know how to tweak my settings on my own, thanks.

Directdraw Palette still broken :(

My guess is they forgot to limit one (or more) of the benchmark cheats (that the end user has no control over) that changes the bit depth of textures to only Direct3D games.

It leaves me with DirectDraw games that are different shades of black, green and purple.

Just a heads up, these drivers have my card running the fans at 600-800 rpm for no apparent reason. They would go into thermal runaway and crash the computer after 103-105c.

The only way I could get them to run higher was to force manual fan speed. I forced the fan speed to 100% and that's what I'm running now.

These drivers are killing me with BF4 and my 7990 - cant not get Crossfire working - go to BF3, no issues what so ever - so Frustrating.

The Beta6's seem to be better than the 13.9's & 13.10's. Most of the artifacting has stopped. I might give the Beta7's a go later.

Send the BF folks a message on FB & see if you can get a response. Have them add it to the list of things to fix.

I'm getting weird issues out of these drivers. My monitor went to sleep and the top three inches of thee had rainbow corruption, like the computer froze. I wiggled the mouse and it woke up, but returned to a normal screen.

LOL and they used to complain about no updates

The demand was constantly better drivers by expanding the driver team to deliver the same improvement, but faster, not just carving up what would be the same amount of improvements and serving it bit by bit.

You know a game series has a lot of clout when GPU manufacturers are constantly putting out fixes on a daily basis for minor issues. I wish some other games received that much attention.

Last night I did the regedit and removed the TM from all the BF 4 entries and I have been stable all evening on Win 8.1 and Beta 7. I might give the 8 again tomorrow, unless beta 9 is released.

Beta 7 was giving me a monitor issue where the monitor would go black, but not turn itself off.

Just updated to Beta 8, and got a 225 point boost in Firestrike over the 7's.

I noticed there is also a new Realtek HD R2.72 driver available.
Maybe that could also be some help for those with BF4 audio lockups using onboard audio.
