Hi all

Yesterday my pal came to me and said that his comp is too hot. He check his cpu temp around 57-59 Celcius. He using AMD Burton 2800 and using cpu fan Volcano 7+.
Is this temp too hot or its suppose to be for burton.

Is it stable? If so than it is fine. My Barton 2800+ runs at about 53-55 C under load. Some people claim these temps are "unacceptable" but, as I mentioned, if the PC is stable you won't have any trouble and everything is fine. If you starte getting instability and crashes, then worry.

Well that is certainly high compared to mine :) and it shouldn't be a problem but I personally would find it a problem. I usually don't like my temps up that high. In several apps, it says my new 2500+ Barton is at 94 F while idling...and at 98 F under load. I thought that was incredible so I measured using my own external tools and it truly is at that temp around there.

I just got an Abit NF7-S (Rev 2), Barton 2500+, Arctic Silver Ceramique, Smart Fan II, and the Antec SLK3700AMB with a front 120x120x25mm case fan (rear one is standard) from Thermaltake as well. Oh yea, can't forget about the SLK-800(A)!

I put the Ceramique on a 1600+ that used to idle at 112 F and now idles at 104 F. I'm so glad I bought it! :D

My Athlon 1ghz used to get up to 68c under load thanks to the crappy Neng HSF I had on it (that was supposed to be able to handle up to a 1.4ghz Athlon)....that CPU is still working now....although I did replace the HSF before I sold it on.

I'm using 17. I just played a few games and the temp is 100.
This is Rev 2.0, as I think I stated.
The room temperature also never ever goes above 72 degrees. It isn't upstairs, where it tends to be much warmer.

Your claims of running your Barton at 3.1ghz is a bunch of monkey nuts. There is NO WAY you have it running at that speed.
