Athlon x4 750k ($80) + Radeon 7770 ($80) + 120GB SSD ($90). Motherboard and ram will set you back another $100 or so. Less I you can get a combo deal maybe.

That leaves you $100 for a case, psu, optical drive, additional data hdd, etc. tight, but doable if you build the base system now and add as finances allow.

You can build and use it now... I'll point out that the case/psu/hdd you selected were $112 total. But if you really were hoping for a 3TB storage drive, say, that'd be something for the next paycheck.

The only difference between the system you linked and the system I would recommend is that instead of $150 for a CPU and $60 for an HDD, I'd suggest an $80 CPU and dumping the savings into the I/O subsystem (SSD + HDD.)

Strictly for gaming, your build will be better. For general day to day use, web surfing, and other crap, mine'll be less prone to awkward pauses and drive crunching. Since you mentioned doing things other than gaming, well... *shrug*

Reason why i prefer my build is that it has a more powerfull CPU which will really help when it comes down to recording and or live streaming.

Recording? Nah. If you're doing multitrack video or audio recording, you're probably I/O limited. Especially with a single platter HDD.

Encoding? Sure.

Live streaming as in watching things on the internet? A dual core Atom can do that.

Live streaming out - as in broadcasting? You'll probably be bandwidth limited before you cap your CPU. Even an old C2D can encode do h.264 at 360p in better-than-realtime, and upload it to a broadcasting service like ustream. (Their live encoding software requires any 2.3GHz cual core.)

It's not bad to want a faster CPU, but I think you may be misidentifying your bottleneck.

I would go:
[$149]a10-6800k {use this apu until you can aford to get better graphics like a 7790-7970 or a 650ti-680}
[-$53]a55 mobo { http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813157332 }(cheap and supports ddr3-2400)
[-$69]1 TB hdd { http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822236339 }(gameplay captures will eat up tonnes of memory)
[-$69]8GB ddr3 2133/2400 { http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231666 }
[$~50]500W psu
[$~50]whatever case
[-$99]windows license {with out this it will be right in your budget}

rough total: $544( $582 w/ tax ), $444 ( $475 w/ tax )[sans windows license]

this budget allows wiggle room for the psu, case and if necessary, going from a10-6800k to a 5800k.

Seconded. You could of course loose the SSD as this is a gaming machine, but it will improve your everyday experience tremendously.
