AMD AthlonXP Mobile Overclocking

Ok, I have never actually OCed an AthlonXP before so I'm not sure of what temperatures are normal. Currently, my AthlonXP-M 2500+ is running at 2.25GHz (166.7 x 13) and idles at around 48 C and loads at around 55 C. Is that safe? Or should I tune down the OC a bit to lower temperatures?

Thanks!

Load under 60c is fine.

But vcore are you using? I run at 2.2ghz @ 1.55vcore. I normally don't get above 42c at load.

Mine peaks around 55 load 12x200 (2400) @ 1.81v actual.

My personal preference is not to get too close to 60, 55 is pretty much the limit of what I'm willing to go to.

I haven't actually done a proper OCing yet. It's currently 2.167GHz @ 1.58 Vcore and idling 39C. I'm still in the process of setting up Windows on it. When that's done, I will do proper testing on it. I will post back with my results.

I never really went past 50C, but I had good cooling (SP-97 + Tornado when needed)
Even at 2.03v, it was at 51C load temps. The Tornado really helped the OC compared to getting higher temps with quieter fans, so I would reccomend a better HS and fan if you want to get higher OCs.

Ok, the maximum I managed to run it was 2.5GHz @ 1.75V but the temperatures weren't to my liking. I don't have a great HSF and since this is only going to be a spare system, I have decided to settle for 2.0GHz @ 1.50V which loads at ~53C. The case I'm using doesn't have proper cooling either but like I said, it's a spare system so I don't really need to squeeze every last juice from it. THanks anyway for all your opinions and numbers, truly helped!
