I was wondering if anyone with similar stats would be willing to share the range of an overclock they were able to achieve with the above hardware I also have PC 2100 DDR 1 stick, I am considering buying this processor to try and achieve at LEAST 2 GHz, also if if anyone has done any overclocking with a thermaltake volcano 7+ with the variable speed fan I would also like your comments, wondering if I can just overclock with this one or should i buy the volcano 9 that eXcaliberPC recommends?

for hardcore o/cing you'd prolly want the slk-800(a)(u) or the slk900 if you can afford it

try svc.com or kdcomputers.com

No, not really. My 1.73GHz chip is running at ~ 2.2GHz and that is an average o/c. But you can use hardcore cooling to keep you systsem cool and quiet at that speed.

so the SLK-800 is a real quiet HSF??? or if not anyone wanna recommend a quiet HSF? that keeps it nice and cool at the moment my 1800+ with the volcano 7+ at low speed sits at bout 49 idle and 55 when running ecc2 or Command & Conquer

The slk-800 is a great heatsink. I have noticed that what ever fan you put on it will not sound as loud on it. Have you ever noticed that if you put your hand right upto a fan it sounds louder? The best way to do it is get an adjustable fan so you can tone it or they make fan controlers.
