So does anyone know if this has onboard video? And if so can it be upgraded. The only reason I didn't jump on the Duron deal a couple of weeks ago was because people said that it came with 8mb onboard AGP that couldn't be upgraded. In the picture the thejammy posted, it looks like the agp slot is open. I know a couple of people in this thread said it was upgradable, but was that just based on the specs or cause they actually got it? I went ahead and ordered it yesterday cause I think this is a pretty hot deal with a retail XP1700, even if I can't upgrade the video. I was thinking about just getting a $50 950 MHz chip and selling the XP 1700 for an even cheaper machine. I'm suprised more people didn't jump on this deal considering the duron system sold out fairly quickly. Hopefully they don't know something I don't ;)

Can anyone confirm what the video is? I think the on-board video thing is a mistake - the board specs don't list it, and I wasn't aware that the ALi chipset supported video, either. Anyone?

Nice find. Shipping to Alaska was only $10, rather than the usual $50 - $70.. Who do they usually ship through?

BTW- Dell Small Business Regular Shipping to Alaska is FedEx 2nd Day.

I ordered 2, but haven't received 'em yet. I've heard from others that they ship in 2 boxes. One with the case w/mounted motherboard the other is the boxed CPU w/ fan.

PunkYou at fw confirmed this does not have onboard video! he received his system today or yesterday. Also you need to buy an extra component to get at the front 4 usb ports, so this only has 2 usable. i'm kind of glad my wife suggested i wait until after we got our overpayment of taxes back before buying a new pc. i just don't have an extra video card laying around so that would be an added expense in addition to the ddr ram i'd need to buy.

system is also sold out now.

this deal is amazing, this board supports multiplier changes with jumpers or dip switches, i think switchees, as well as voltage and FSB adjustment. All with a retail 1700+ which alone will cost around $135 shipped, Outpost ground shipping is cheap also considering places like newegg (rightfully) charge 15 sometimes 20 to ship a mid tower case.

I ordered parts to build my little brother an XP 1600+ with ECS K7S5A and evercase all from newegg and I am kicking myself. This is an amazing price.

My order tracking now shows that the CPU is backordered, called the CSR and they couldn't give any details on when it would get in.

whoever asked about putting together:
i bought the last barebones from soyo, and the mobo is mounted,a nd the pwr supply is in it. the Cpu comes in the retail box(shipped and billed separately) and you dont need artic silver(the cpu fan has sticky shiznit on it already) easy to put together all you gotta do is put the cpu in the socket and lock it down, VERY simple.

as far as video....
it has onboard video, so you can save $50 bucks on the up front cost, but if you want later, the board has AGP slot(what you need for a vid card) so you can put the latest Geforce 4 or anything else in and disable the onboard one on the bios.

hope this helps...if i find the $$ im all over this deal HOTT in my book

just checked my amex statement online and saw two charges from amex...after looking my order up it looks like they charged $112.86 for the XP1700+ processor and $86.14 for the mobo/case combo...so, *if* by some miracle XP1700's drop in price to like $100 or less in the next 60 days you can file an amex BVG claim to save a measly few bucks...

That is how outpost charges on their bills. I have no idea why they do that. If you look on their website, on a order they piece meal it. I think they do that so if they are out of stock or something they can send each piece. They did that with the Athlon xp1700 and ECS mobo and the Antec case :)

No fan is included. The fan housing was damaged.

I ordered this system on thursday night, and it got here at 10:30 this morning. Came in two boxes, one with the case and motherboard, and the other with the processor. The case is pretty cheap, looks to be a smaller/cheaper 300W power supply, but it is rated for P4/AMD XP. The case does not come with a case fan, only a housing for it in the front, nor does it come with a floppy drive.

As far as video on board, there is no sign of it, although it does have onboard sound. I havn't used it yet as my stick of 512mbs of DDR doesn't get here until tomorrow. I have pictures of it if anybody wants to see excactly what the case looks like and what not.

Since it is the retail version of the processor, the fan comes within the same box that the cpu comes in. Therefore it is shipped in a seperate box like mentioned above.

Has anyone ordered this since the CPU went on backorder and bothered to call to see the date when the CPU will be coming back in stock?

I called. They said the processor is on backorder. the system is available though. they couldn't give me a firm date when the processor will be back. So, I further suggested to downgrade my order to 1600+, which has price tag of 20$ lower and in stock!. They didn't agree!!!! They said this way they won't offer me the bundle benefits. And they quoted the system as 124.99$, 1700+ 169.99$, 1600+ 149.99$. In the bundle I order, the system is 84.XX$ and 1700+ is 112.xx$.

I don't know why they only do 1700+ with Soyo AS-750.
