Wow, the Athlon XP 2000+ are out already!! It can be had for $425+s/h. Here's a link to it:

I'm considering it a hot deal because I can't find info on it anywhere. It's not even listed on pricewatch!
Hope you guys like my first post 🙂

Yea it is spendy... but then again, we could get it for the bragging rights. I wonder how much we can OC these babies 🙂

No one will be shipping them until 01/09 (or is it 01/07? I forget)

And their prices are obscene!

EVERYONE will have them in a week or so..

good deal for those who have to be the absolute first to have things

not so good to pay almost 200 more dollars for about 100 mhz (pricewatch shows the Athlon XP 1900+ at $237)

Who cares? It's the latest and the greatest. I paid $300 a pop for some 1800+ XP chips at launch. Don't regret it a bit.

I think I'll take one! 🙂

Actually it is 67mhz more not 100mhz! I would just get a 1900 and overclock it! Tomshardware has the full instructions on this!

Link maybe? I am trying to OC my Athlon 900mhz

Burrrr, I consider this a freezing cold deal.

At newegg you can pick up the retail XP 1900+ for $279 but at game pc it's $339. Newegg is almost 18 percent cheaper.

If the same difference will apply to the 2000+ when newegg offers it, you should be able to pick up the OEM version for around $350 versus the rip off price of $425 that game pc wants.

Just my 2 cents worth.

Though it isn't a great deal, man the bragging right oooooo the bragging rights. If only for a month or 2 untill the next one comes out.

Not that I recommend getting the AMD XP 2000+, but Gonzo2k, the 1.4 GHz you're talking about is not XP 1.4 GHz, is it? Could be an Athlon T-Bird.

someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't you just buy now with AMEX, trust in the inexorable price drop, and then make sure to PM in 59 days? what is the flaw in this strategy?

what's PM ?

PM = Pricematch

but I believe AMEX blue has excluded certain items from pricematching, correct me if I'm wrong though, because I don't have AMEX

Also, does anyone else have a problem with this price? The Athlons used to bed so much cheaper than P4, now they seem like they are trying to compete with them in the same price range. I would be extremely disappointed to see the Athlon 2100+ (or whatever comes out next) be more expensive than Intel's best.

They're now shipping in Japan. They have a new marking on them. "AGOGA". Pretty interesting. I wonder if these chips can actually overclock to 2.0ghz now 🙂

this price doesn't mean too much.. at least i don't think. they're only out in japan... these guys are just jacking up the price for those of use who REALLY want it.. it's not slated for release here till jan isn't it?
