Don't remember seeing these announced or discussed anywhere - looks like a 2 core AM3 Phenom II . . . in stock and shipping. Had to come eventually I suppose, just took me by surprise.

Not a bad price either. And only 65W and a dualie. . . should clock sky high? =)

It's not a Phenom II with 2 cores disabled... that's the Phenom II x2 550.

The Athlon II X2 is in fact an entirely new native dual-core die.

With only 1MB cache it looks like AMDs answer to the E5200. Easy 4GHz+?
