Id advise you people to wait and not just jump on it because its a decent price. Just wait a while for conroe and am2 to really be out, then the prices will be even lower. ALso, give amd's price cuts a little while to set in.

It's competitive with DDR1. The densities of DDR2 are growing while DDR1 is not going to get much bigger than a 2GB dimm. The Price per megabyte of DDR1 is expected to get higher while the cost per MB of DDR2 will get drasticly cheaper.

how is this a hot deal? its just a price cut, all the single core athlon64s had there prices cut today, and they still havent settled into their price ranges yet, so i would bet those of you jumping in now will find that you have actually paid more than a few days from now.

You guys are definetly right, I'll just wait it out for awhile and purchase a $125 poweredge 2400 server in the mean time.

Thank goodness, I was going into a buying 64 bit system frenzy :)

July 24. x2 price cut 35%- 50%

BTW, a second price cut on single core on July 24... unless you need a new cpu now.... wait till end of July is your best option (except you have some price protection...)

AMD's 939 production halt sends prices tumbling

I haven't seen retail dealers seeming to show this yet.
But my old dependable Athlon is still old but no longer dependable
and this seems like the time to move.

Now if there were just cheap dependable dual or quad socket boards
to put dual core parts in.

The one at zipzoom is listed as Venice core, and I believe that there is also a Manchester core but both have different part numbers.

ADA3800BPBOX - Venice
ADA3800BVBOX - Manchester

Which one should be condsidered for purchase since looking at the ADA3800BVBOX on zipzoom is listed for $287.00

Any suggestions?
