abit board is quite expensive compared to the epox board, but it also offers 4 dimm slots vs. epox's 2. if you are only using it to play games, go with epox, but if you do a lot of web development and photoshop, 2 dimm slots might become a limitation.

Heh. Looked at the review somebody mentioned for the Epox, it was much more detailed than the one on Tom's page. The review says that the Epox only has two jumpers; one to reset the bios to defaults, and one to choose between 200mhz and 266mhz configuration. Everything else, including the overclock settings, is in the bios menu. So... I'm getting this board, when I have the money for it, anyway.

The Epox has 3 dimm slots, not 2.

Beware of the 8KHA, from ardOCP:

<< USB functions:

I decided to go ahead and test the USB functions, especially in the overclocked state, since there were reported problems with KT266 and USB when FSB speeds of 138MHz or higher were used. So I broke out my 3Com HomeConnect USB camera, set the system to the standard 133MHz bus, and brought the system back up. Under normal conditions the camera functioned just fine. I then reset the system to 138MHz and tried again. This time I did note a minor pause when I brought up the camera software, but the picture was there. Next I reset to 139MHz and tried once more. This time the system did not see the camera and no picture was displayed. I reset to 140 and 141MHz with the same results. Checking the possibility it could be a power related problem, I utilized my Belkin 4 port powered USB hub and put it into the loop. This time I was able to get up to 141MHz before the system failed to recognize the camera again. So it would appear that the USB problem in KT266 does show up on the 8KHA as well with its current BIOS. I can only hope that the motherboard makers are working on a BIOS solution for this problem, since it places a restriction on a board in a FSB overclocked state.

If you wanna run stock, go with the Epox
If you wanna overclock, the Abit rocks!
