What really is the difference? I've heard that AMDs have much higher FSB rates, but how does this influence overall clockspeed?

And exactly what does HyperTransport technology do?

If you're comparing P4s to Athlon 64s, AMD wins.

Amd has been the leader in overall performance as well as temp issues the last 2 or 3 years,which is a really long time in cpu time.Intel has just this year released dual core cpus that will narrow the gap . I feel Intel took amd for granted , and got its collective clock cleaned by the smaller company . All tech types feel that competition between the two(or more) cpu companies is the best bet for us,the user.

this is the wrong place to ask amd or intel. i'm a previous owner of both intel and amd. intel has their strong points amd has theirs. you're better off not basing your final answer on what people say here, google would give u a better unbiased opinion
