Nah, X2 4000+ was going to be mainstream but because Intel's new Conroe is so cheap and fast AMD needed to compete with prices instead of performance. This led them to drop their 1MB L2 cache CPUs and stick with the cheaper, (but still fast in my opinion) 512KB L2 cache processors.

Dont place your bet at finding a Conroe for retail price the first month it is out.
