When it comes to tablets, the real seller will be the brand behind it and the OS and software that makes it useful. AMD needs to be able to sell to a big company like Samsung or what not who can actually produce a high quality machine with great ergonomics and promote it properly to drive sales. Problem is that they are all so ARM focused, even if 2 or 4 core Jaguar offers the kind of performance that ARM could never hope to touch within the next couple years.
Samsung also has their own line of SoC's and their own fabs, so it's unlikely they'd outsource if they can avoid it.

Technically, both VIA and AMD are still >>> Cyrix"We might not be able to compete with Intel but we can compete with VIA all day long."![]()
I get the feeling Temash is the real sleeper of the bunch. Wait till AMD starts talking price/performance with Intel's then existing handset makers.
If you are already going x86 on the handset why not go with the company that is willing to sell such that they take home 35% gross margins versus the guy that insists you pay them enough that they take home 60%?
Tamesh will come down to the graphics they enable on it and the roadmap (i.e. confidence) they provide in 20nm w/14XM follow-up.
You should be a social worker. Its about who has the best cpu and will be . When the time comes for the entire core to work on a app Intel will be their .
