But if you're talking about things such as file transfers, web surfing, email access, or just Word/Excel usage, then no, the upgrade won't do a thing for you. What kind of applications are you running (or trying to run)? Some people say their machines feel like they run "snappier" with a dual-core chip. I'd be sure you plan to use all that CPU power because $300 is a lot of money for "snappy".
