My grandson avidly plays League of legends. Has an A10 7800, 4 GB 1333 ram. No dedicated video card. He has 3 monitors running. Nothing was overclocked.
He is currently running 20-25 fps.
How to increase fps.
I have read the A10 only pairs with an R7 250 card, will that do it?
Can I put that in, or can I put in a higher one. I was also thinking about getting him a new Intel build if I can't beef up the AMD.
Please suggestions would be terrific.
Thanks.

But not for league since it doesn't support sli (or am I wrong? )
bklyn it might also be the 3 monitors he is running from the igpu that kill performance, has he tried with only the main monitor?
In 1080 he should be getting plenty more even with high settings.
Although igpu craves high speed ram and a single 1333 module is the worst you can do for it,cheapest upgrade would be a set of 2x4gb ddr3 ram at 2400 that would give it a good boost and 4gb is cutting it pretty close anyway, even for browsing.

I would do two things,

First get another 4GB Memory and secondly get him an RX460 2GB.

Yes you just plug it in (and install drivers) you can even get an nvidia card doesn't matter.
The 250 just allows you to use both the igpu and the external card together but only in some games.

Yes you can but the monitor that plays the game will have to be connected to the new card to get the boost from it.
(not necessarily but it is quite messy to start the game up on one gpu and then display it on a different one. )

A good idea is to upgrade the ram to dual channel and DDR3-2133.
For example from GEIL : DDR3 EVO Leggera DUAL CHANNEL series.
And use a single 1080p monitor instead of 3, but you could try it with 3 monitors.

According to the website of AMD, the R7 250 is the best choice.

http://www.amd.com/en-us/innovations/software-technologies/processors-for-business/dual-graphics
If you click on the desktop tab, it says R7 250.
That info may be outdated in the sense that maybe more cards are supported, but it least the R7 250 is stated.

edit:
Or go for the Intel build with a nice card. RX470,RX480 or GTX1060 6GB.

R7 250 is the highest card you can use for DUAL graphics (Hybrid CrossFire) with the Kaveri A10 (you can see a review in my signature bellow).

It is better to get a new RX 460 2GB if you can connect your monitors than use the R7 250 for Hybrid CF.

Yeah, a 4GB RX460 would be best. Add in faster (and dual channel) ram and that kaveri apu will run fine.

Yeah skip dual graphics with a 250. A single faster card will be vastly better, even if just because it will be much less prone to errors
