Anybody had any trouble with AMD's 761 chipset and Fast Writes?
I didn't have any problems with my GeForce 3 and this motherboard but my GeForce 4 Ti4600 has HUGE quality issues with Fast Writes enabled in BIOS, it's REALLY bad (looks like someone cut and pasted a chunk of garbled image, just horrible results).

Reminds me of the Anubis demo from, what was it, the original Voodoo?
Mucho problems. I used the search on the forum and found nothing.

Any ideas? I reinstalled drivers, after manually purging the cache (so it would actully REALLY update the drivers) I run XP, Athlon 1.0 @ 1.4, KG7 motherboard, 128MB of Crucial PC2100 and 128 MB Samsung PC2100 and 256MB Crucial PC2100, I have SBA, AGP4x both enabled, Always Compensate and ISA Aliasing off, the problem goes away as soon as I disable fast writes.

I have yet to test to see what kind of hit (if any) that deals out.

Any info would be great.

I know the R100 / Rv200 ATI Radeons don;t support fast writes, are you sure the gf4 does ? Also, the performance shoul;d be negligible with fw disabled anyways.

Just leave it disabled. Even with it on you won't see any big increases in performance.

The fast write feature is disabled in drivers for all current video cards. Fast writes, in most cases, causes most systems to get horribly unstable.

Not sure what Side Band dose, I've never had a motherboard that supports it.
