I want 5760x3600 Eyefinity yet have only just got to satisfactory 1920/1200 fps/image quality. Will 7000 series be April or Sept 2011.

Unknown beyond sometime past the middle of next year. The new series will be coming on 28nm.

AMD is pulling 28nm from Global Foundries and TSMC for 28nm, whereas Nvidia is pulling from TSMC only.

That may change the release schedule for AMD if Global is ready before TSMC, otherwise they will likely both release 28nm cards closely together.

Considering AMD just released HD69xx series, don't count on HD7000 for another 9-12 months imo. Plus, Q3 2011 schedule would assume that 28nm process would go smoothly at TSMC, which is a pretty brave assumption after the 40nm issues 🙂. Your best bet would be HD6970s in CF if you must upgrade now. After selling your 2 cards, you'll probably have better performance too.

This ^^^^^

Totally depends on 28 NM process, I think both nVidia and AMD have blown their load on the 40 NM process, anything more on 40 NM process would be an architectural marvel.

This sounds right.

I'm going to find a cheap 5870 on the forums and ride out 40nm on Crossfire.

The 6950's CF is better money spent IMO
