AMD 65nm process make K8 run at 65Watt

Just read this off a few websites on the new X2 K8s that's just a 65nm die shrink, will run at 65W. I take this since COnroe is 65nm, this means K8's design can opterate at 65W using same process. But I think this is AMDs trial of 65nm process, they seem to be cautious, not mixing new core design with new process.

EE is a 3800+ and 4600+ using current process they run at 35w and 45w respectively. With price of 320$ and 440$ list.

The OP is talking about those. Regs is talking about the Energy Efficient (EE) version which is much more expensive and operates at half the TDP. I was replying to him.

A 65nm would practically drop the K8 line to DTR models and the K8 EEs to notebooks.

No, I'm not talking about Energy Efficient (EE) versions which are hand picked 90nm. I'm talking about the die shrinked 65nm same core which natually runs at 65W as compare to normal 90nm X2 cores running at 89W. But of course, if they hand pick a few of those 65nm ones, they might even find some 25Ws who knows.
