AMD 64 Processor, which do you suggest

Out of these three processors I am looking to buy, which one do you suggest getting. What is the best value for the buck?

AMD 64 3000, 3200, or 3500

Are the lower end ones better because you can overclock them to the 3500 standard? Also I will be having a XP-90 Heatsink, so tell me how much exactly could i overclock.

s754 2800+, you can get a good overclock if you get a good board and hsf

Because of the multiplier lock on A64, I would recommend a 3000+ Newcastle (2.0GHz) with a Chaintech VNF3-250. The 9x multiplier of the 2800+ would require higher FSB speeds to reach 2.4-2.5GHz that might not always be possible using your motherboard.

Exactly what I had posted before but for some reason it doesnt show up now.. how odd.

Go for the 3000+.. with its 10 multiplier, its easier to hit 250 FSB than the 275ish needed for the 2800+ with the 9 multiplier for 2.5 ghz

Going to disagree with that last statement.

Go for the 3000+ With the 2800+, the clock multiplier is 9 and you probably wont get higher than 270 FSB which would be somewhere around 2430.

To contrast, with the 3000+, your mltiplier is 10 and its much easier to hit 250 FSB or higher with these chips which would make your overclock 2500 mhz instead of just 2430.
