Shipping is a bit out of hand, but still this price is well below others.

Took this direct from AMD recommended retailers.

The reason it's low is because Socket 940 is going to be abandoned except for Opteron updates, and the FX-51 is Socket 940.

So the upgrade future for this chip is not very bright - fine if you want a decent system *now* though.

Man, with all the free copies of Far Cry being handed out, people will have several copies laying around.

haha no kidding I got in on the 3200 + Asus mobo + Far Cry deal and I just bought Far Cry for 35 the other day at Walmart :( I wonder if I can return it and get instore credit or something? do they do that with games?

Unopened games for refund
opened games are exchanged for the same games.

You can return unopened games. But if you opened the game, you'll only be able to exchange it for the same game.

Won't Opteron 1XX cpus work in those motherboards?

That should ensure a very good future for this chip (if correct)

If they give you an exchange for the same game, you have a new and unopened one.....

then the next day you could take it back and say you have no receipt and get a store credit...it will have the walmart price tag on to verify thats where you got it from.....
