amd 64 cpu price drop

is there any reason to expect the price of either the 3500+ or 3800+ to drop between now and christmas? since i don't think any new cpus will be coming out 'tween now and then i'd guess any drop could only be insignificant anyway, so is it fine, would you all say, to just go ahead and buy my cpu now?
 
They had a price drop specifically for the Christmas season just a few weeks ago in addition to the scheduled drop shortly before that. It wont get any cheaper before the new year.
 
They've already dropped. The 90nm Winchester 3500+ dropped to about 250 and the 3800+ dropped to about 600. I think that's as far as they'll go, give or take a few bucks.
 
how much cheaper can it get? amd's dropped their prices way more then intel has. dont expect another big drop anytime soon.

I think you have a VERY valid question...there have been significant drops by AMD on their winchester core processosr...probably won't see a significant drop again until first quarter 05.

by the way...u can't control what people say... u can only control how u act towards them....😉
