which of the amd 64 cores is the best? Ive been offered a couple and one is winchester one is venice and clawhammer.....which one is the better one!
 
Single core: San Diego > Venice > wnichester > Newtcastle > Clawhammer

Theres not a huge difference. And its worth remebering Claw and Diego both have 1 meg cache,
 
Hmm, out of curiosity why is the Newcastle better than the Clawhammer? i'm running a 3400+ newcastle at the moment

From what I know, it's just a newer core. Newer usually = better. Not sure of the specifics.
 
the Newcastle is usually cheaper for most applications than the Clawhammer.

Generally the higher clockspeed beats both the bigger cache and higher memory bandwidth.
