AMD 64 3400+ problem

I have an AMD 64 3400+ but it is clocked at 1.97 Ghz instead of 2.2 Ghz. Anyone know how to fix this?

What motherboard do you have?

I don't really know the model since it came prebuilt by Compaq but I do know that it was made by ASUS.

Check the FSB settings in the bios. Maybe your ram can't handle the speed? In that case you could run it at a lower speed.

Wait... nevermind, A64s are different. Still, check the bios for.. whatever settings the A64 uses. 🙁

i heard a64 had things that underclocks ur comp to keep it cool -_- i dunno

Yea that must be it because i just checked my clock and now it says 2.19 Ghz. Should I keep this PowerNow! thing on or just turn it off? And how do I turn it off?

Might be called Cool 'N' Quiet too... it's set in the BIOS if I'm not mistaken.
