my AMD 64 3000+ is running at a stunning 2.4GHZ i managed this by taking the multiplyer and setting it at 8 times (stock at 9) and then took the fsb from 200 and set it to 300 and a 1.57v core the cpu runs at about 30 degrees idle and about 35-40 degrees i used a zalman 96mm blue led all copper fan running at minimum speed. i managed to do this on a asus a8n-e motherboard using kingston value ram (2x512mb)

a8n-e
AMD 64 3000+ @ 2.4GHZ = to AMD 3800+
1gb kingston value ram
ati radeon x800 vivo unlocked and overclocked to an x850xl
soundblaster audigy 2
2x seagate 300gb
2x pioneer dvr-110 dvd-rw
caption car(forget what kind)
enermax noisetaker 470w
thermaltake tsunami case black piano finish w/ window (love this case)

very nice OC. I wish I had the time to correct the OC I got on this Venice...oh well. And that's a Zalman CNPS9500 or 7000Cu?

That is decent but no great feat....

My old 3000+ winchester did 9x296 = 2.66ghz with 1.57v (100% tested stable) all on air with a standard Venus 12 cooler and loaded at 48-50c max with prime95 for 48hours
It did 2.5ghz at default 1.4v....Did 2.6ghz at 1.48v

You can pretty much manage to do that with almost all 3000+ winnies and venices on many of the NF3 ultra and NF4 mobos..

The only thing I wonder is why so much voltage to do that??? I am surprised you cannot do that on almost stock 1.4v....

have you tried l;ower vcore??

My Winchester is junk, it's a 3200+ and only will do 10x220. :(

My Vinice is good! It does 2.9 ghz....at 1.7 Vcore.

Nice OC! The Vcore seems way too high like Duvie was saying. I was able to hit 2.4GHz at 1.40V.

I'm currently running my E6 Venice 3000+ at 2610MHz (290 x 9) with stock AMD cooling. Currently 1.50V and I think I could do it lower. It runs pretty hot (a big part is how hot it is in my computer room) ~50C under full load. Anywhere from 34-40C on idle (depending on room temp).

I hope to knock a few more deg C off when I get a new cooler. I was looking at the Zalman 7000B AlCU.

I hope to run 300 x 9 or even beyond once I get the new cooler. Not sure where the limit is on this CPU yet, but I'm sure I'm not far off with only air cooling.
