It's funny that if you click the link to the case, they have 7 more pictures of it. None of the pictures are of the inside, but there are 3 pics of the unopened outside cardboard box.

So the thing that makes it an incomplete system is the...

CPU fan?

(The board has a video chip and VGA-out, according to spec.)

This looks like a very good deal then.

I'm looking at ~$510 shipped before rebate, ~$490 after.

For the 6-core with a 1 TB HD.

And I run Linux.

If only I needed another PC...

the MOBO is an AM2+ socket... to fully utilize AMD Phenom II Hex Core it performs better with MOBO with a true AM3 socket... (correct me if I'm wrong).

Eh its an okay price...I get the feeling they are using the 1055T to try to attract people so they can move other inventory in the bundle.

The motherboard will downgrade to HT 1.0 with an AM3 cpu:

Supports next generation of 45nm AMD AM3 CPU
This motherboard features Split Power Plane, 3+1 phase VRM to support AMD's latest 45nm AM3 Athlon II/ Phenom II series processors, delivering greater performance enhancements and the ultimate in hardware scalability.
* If you install AMD AM3 CPU on this motherboard, the system bus speed will downgrade from HT3.0 (5200MT/s) to HT1.0 (2000 MT/s) spec; however, the frequency of AM3 CPU will not be impacted. Please refer "CPU Support List" for more information.

Is this a significant difference? It says "CPU frequency is not impacted" ... not quite sure what this means.

Decided to buy this kit for my first attempt at building a PC.

It was a success

I have tips for anyone considering this purchase because unfortunately the product description page isn't clear about a couple of things.

1. The kit includes 2 SATA devices; hdd & dvd drive yet only 1 SATA cable and 1 IDE cable are included so... you will need an extra SATA cable to have everything up and running

2. The product description notes that a CPU cooler is required... I picked up a $25-35 cooler which works great. The problem is that it doesn't mention that a regular fan is not included/required.
