I have no idea what this one is, has Toledo stepping, but I bought it as a Sandy?

Any ideas.... and how does it OC?.... Its still in the box unopened, so I still have the option of returning it....

Well CCBWE , SPMW is a toledo stepping....and yes, I wonder if there is a way to enable that second core. If that is so then I woulda got a bargain. But I bet the 2nd core has been physically disconnected by AMD.

man, if there were a way to enable it... that'd be pretty sick...

:)

im' sure it's been disabled or it's even possible the second core was defective

Interesting.

This doesn't surprise me really.

However, do you really think you'd want a defective second core working?
Even if there was a way to enable it, it's not gonna work...

There's probably a reason why AMD disabled the second core and decided to sell the chip at $200 less ... I wonder why ... ;)

Its very simple. If only one core is defective, instead of trashing the entire die and taking it as a loss, AMD can just disable one of the cores and sell it as a single-core A64.
