I'm building my first computer and want to use the 3500 but dont know what the difference is between the 2 cores. Can anyone tell me the why i see so much raving about the venice core,is it that much better than the winchester? Also are these 2 that much better than the clawhammer and newcastle?

SSE3 (which improves performance in many rendering/optimized software) and improved memory controller (which is said to improve OCabilty as well) are the two main improvements over Whinchester.

If you can wait a few weeks, wait. If you can't, then its not much of a deal.
