AMD 3500+

Does anyone know when they will be back on the market. I have ordered one on ZipZoomFly, but it was more than a week ago, and although they wrongly said they had it in stock when I ordered it, they admitted on Aug 23 they did not have it. Everywhere is out of stock and I know AMD was supposedly having problems with new software but that was supposed to be over with. I am tired of waiting.

This is the only place I've seen them in stock recently. Price is outrageous...

I know. This is the firs time I have seen Newegg the highest price, but that is supply and demand

wow actually one of my friends and i are kinda in the same exact postion. it all started in early aug when he was checking computer parts out. we agreed that amd would be the way to go. eventually i wanna get a new system as well, so we are both ordering parts. i originally ordered the amd 3500 cpu from zipzoomfly on aug 14 and yet til this day have not recieved it. i kinda got fed up. luckilly recently monarch computer had a few in stock so my friend and i ordered our cpu's from them. it's supposed to be in tomorrow. hopefully all goes well. good luck in your search.

my quest to get my amd 3500+ cpu...

this was my frist time ordering from zipzoomfly and i wasn't impressed at all. like when i ordered the cpu originally on the 14th, their site showed it to be in stock. then on tuesday the 17th i get an email saying the item in on backorder. weird thing is that i have been tracking the item on their site ever since i placed the order and sometimes it shows to be in stock, so then i am thinking i will get it soon. guess what? later in the day on their web site it ends up being out of stock. i called their customer service, which is kinda a pain to reach, and sometimes one rep would say oh yeah it's on its way to you and then the next day i would call asking for tracking info and the rep would say its still out of stock sir. i just wish all the reps would tell the customers a uniform answer. eventually i got fed up and cancelled the order. dont get me wrong, the order item i have ordered from them have come in on time. i also gotta say i do like newegg's service as well. their shipments are sent out promptly and the customer service is great. so far monarch has been great. i ordered the cpu on tuesday the 24th around noon eastern time and around 4 pm it appeared to be sold out. i called monarch hoping that they aren't having the same inventory problems as zipzoomfly and luckilly they weren't, so my order went through. the rep i spoke with was very nice. i explained my situation to her and she said she will have them cpu sent out by the end of the day. 9pm that night i get emailed a tracking number for it. sorry for the long post, but just wanted to share my experience.

Indeed it is. And to the tune of MSRP+$125 no less.

GamePC has Athlon64 3500+ in stock at only $440 (!), plus shipping. It's still way above list price, but lower than Newegg (never thought I'd see that day).

Only $440! I wish I had bought it two days earlier from Newegg for $352.60. That was the price only two weeks ago for a 3500+

Meh, I am also on a quest to get the 3500+. I saw on Sunday (8/22) that ZipZoomFly had some 3500+'s in stock, so I put in my order for that, a motherboard, and RAM. The next day when I go to ZipZoomFly's website, I see the processor out of stock, so I think "Ahh, crap... " but check my order status and see everything in my order was shipped, tracking number and all. Well, today I open my order, and to my suprise... I have the motherboard and RAM, but no processor! And on the invoice, I see "B/O" written on the invoice, and the processor is highlighted... gahhh, back order!

Meh, kinda frustrating... I was hoping to build that rig today. I called ZZF and he said they're getting some more in today and I should have my processor here next week. I hope I can trust his word.... sounds like these processors are hard to get.
