the cpu slips nicely into its slot, ok so i put the hs and fan on it catches but I have the feeling if i turn this plastic lever its gonna break either itself or the cheap metal used to apply force.....

Wait, back up. Lifted the socket lever. You put the CPU in the socket. You put the socket lever back down, securing the CPU in place. Is this correct? If not, take the heatsink off, PRAY you didn't destroy anything, put the socket lever down, then put the heatsink back on.

I didnt apply much force, I didnt want to break anything, the thing is the only way this thing wants to install is with the lever in the direction of the pci slots, if i start to pul the lever towards the opposite direction (tighten) doesnt want to go, so im not gonna force it, it seems tight enough as is, just bothers me.

Get the AMD box and look for the poster in there. It has pictures and directions for you. In a nutshell, latch the metal clips on the plastic retention mechanism then push the lever down to lock it in place. Nothing should feel like it's going to break or snap.

Im glad i was too shy to use force, i didnt know about the bar that tightened the cpu in place.... shew.

thanks the poster was in a sealed plastic bag i thought only contained warranty info. Helped alot.
