So is this an ATX case HighPower 300W? I kind of got confused with this thread.

edit: Linkpca site doesn't say one way or other- does that mean no?

You might be surprised at what the Enlight 250W PSU can do. I have mine running a system with a T-Bird overclocked to 1.4 GHz, 2 7200 rpm hard drives, 2 case fans, a Geforce 3 that is overclocked, 2 soundcards, a CD-ROM and a CD-RW, and it does just fine. I personally think that the inflation of PSU ratings is a bit of hype, pushed by the "tweako" machismo of overclockers. If you are the sort running 6 case fans and a water cooled CPU, then you will naturally want a huge, expensive PSU as well. Nothing wrong with that--I'm just suggesting that you not upgrade until you know you need to.

Thats really funny, a guy who is overclocking his geforce3 of all things talking down to '"tweako" machismo of overclockers'

Yeah, I was wondering about the company too? Any one deal with them before? Sounds like some of you already got the PS, correct? So I guess they're legit and quick to work with?

If so, great deal on a PS!

Boy, I can't even get a response in Tech Forum. So, I'll try here again.

Is this an ATX case power supply?

If the supply has an on/off switch on the back, can I assume it doesn't have wires to go to the case front on/off switch?

"If the supply has an on/off switch on the back, can I assume it doesn't have wires to go to the case front on/off switch?" False assumption. :)

Actually ATX power supplies don't have the wires that go to the case switch.
That's for the AT power supplies.
The switch wires plug into the ATX motherboard.

on/off switch is useless. If you hold your sysytem main switch button for about 5~7 second. you system will shut down.

Thanks for the clarification, Greg (I had a brain fade there).

"on/off switch is useless." I disagree. I can leave the case plugged in to the wall for good grounding while I'm working on it. With the switch off, no +5VSB (Stand By) power is being supplied to the motherboard (which is why I don't leave an ATX case w/o a switch plugged in while working on it).

Running my XP 1700+ on Enlight 250 PSU with cd writer and Geforce GTS. Maybe I should get this and OC it to 1900+

Hey guys do any of you know if this will power an Athlon XP 1800+, Soyo K7V Dragon+ Plus Motherboard, 4 Hard Drives, and a CD-R Drive? I know that is alot to power and I am not too sure about these. I was looking to get a 400W power supply, but I see on this thread someone said that this is approved to the XP 1900+ processor, and it sure is a good deal. But could someone let me know if this one will power what I am looking to power? Thanks guys!

If you have 4 hard drives, I suggest you get a 340w Highpower Power Supply, which will make your data safer.

When I got my Antec KS-282 w/303x PS over a year ago, it said the PS was Athlon approved, yet looking at the AMD approved link provided above it shows the 404x as the only Antec PS. Now why is that? I got me one of those AMD XP 1800+ coming (online winner here) and I want to put it in that case. Is that PS good enough for that CPU?

I would think it should be since the XP sucks less power than earlier Athlons.
