AMD is not making any more 3000+'s, hence the supply decreasing and the price rising.

Yeah, got a couple back in Sept. for $146 each..... should have snagged more!

I dunno... I'd rather just get the 3200+. More multipliers available and there are more chips available too. Regardless, the 3000+ is the lowest clocked venice core CPU

yeah it is, they are good overclockers, well the early batches were. now they get decent oc's 2.4-2.5ghz range guranteed using stock voltage. my local fry's has these chips, the retail versions for $130, my friend wanted to get one but they were sold out.

The 3000+ was the first s939 chip released, and is now being discontinued with the latest revision of the venice core, E4. The <2Ghz department will be handled by the 939 sempron when it is released.
