AMD 3000+ and Overclocking

Hi guy's
this is my first post in over two years.
Has any one tried overclocking the 3000+ on the GA-7N400pro mobo, I would like any tips for the best way to go about it and if the multiplyer needs to be unlocked first, and if anything special needs to be done first. what should i aim for?

my system specs are as follows

AMD 3000+
GA-7N400pro
1gb DDR 400 (2x 512mb)
2x WD 120gb 8mb cache (raid 0)
Gigabyte Radeon 9700pro
lite-on dvd 16x
lite-on 52x24x52
win2k sp4

The multiplier should be unlocked for you to play around with. I have a couple of questions for you. What brand and specs does your memory have, and what is the default FSB for your 3000+. It can appear in two varieties, 333MHz FSB and 400MHz FSB.

For starters, I would set the multiplier at 11 and the FSB at 200MHz, then increase the multiplier a half step at a time. In the thread at the top of the CPU/OC page, find the links to memtest86 and prime95 and use those, 1 hour of prime's torture test and 1 pass memtest, to make sure the system is stable after each speed bump. When you have reached your top speed, run each overnight w/ memtest set to run all test and have the CPU cache always on, press c-1-2-2-3-0. Good luck and report back with results. Peace. 😎

Well, you're not gonna get much out of that XP3000 unless it's a new stepping that nobody else has... you can probably get XP3200 speeds out of it... which is 2.2 Ghz with a 400 Mhz FSB... maybe 2.3-2.4 Ghz if it's a very new stepping.
