I'm more inclined towards Intel hardware but this setup is drool-worthy. You really should be getting freebies from AMD for your dedication in what you do with your hardware. Intel as well, I might add :p

You remind me of one old dude from NH called Movieman, on xtremesystems.org. Those were the good old days. Hehe.

Nice build. Am I correct in assuming the memory is CL15?
Yup, 3600 CL15. The fastest that I thin is supported, and the lowest latency, I also specifically choose 8 sticks as I thought it might help the gimped memory situation, we will see.

OK< this is a builders thread, not a 2990WX benchmark thread. I will delete all posts not relevant from here on.

Builders feel free to put benchmarks of their own boxes here, just not external ones like above. Those need to be in their own thread.

Yeah those are great sticks of a very high bin, probably no point in paying extra for 4000c17 since you won't get that high on Ryzen anyway(at least not until Zen2). Look forward to hearing your experiences with TR2!

Nice build!
My only change would be the PSU. You picked the AX1500i, but why not its successor, the AX1600i?

The only thing not clear to me is whether the motherboard is going to be able to drive enough power. I thought you were looking for more phases?

You bet I was, but none are available anywhere. The Taichi is still the best right now.

Way to go dude, lead by example. Can’t wait to see the beast in action and any benchmarks, feedback etc! Edit:Obviously minus the benchmarks but including temperatures, issues or not etc.

Be careful with that Enermax AIO Mark. I am hearing of and reading horror stories about corrosion/leaks destroying thousands of dollars of equipment. The reviews look ugly everywhere its sold. It seems inner corrosion is a guarantee as are the leaks that eventually develop. I'd hate to see your 32 core kick the bucket over such a thing.

Well, I only know I have 3 of them now, and they are fine, and have been on 24/7 for a year.

Oh, builders can benchmark their boxes, I just don't want to clutter this up with hundreds of posts of outside benchmarks. Like above. Anything a builder wants goes here, and comments on their builds.

Send back those 1080Ti's and wait for the 1180?
Nope, just add 1180's when they come out. I have a zillion open slots, just waiting for it to get colder.

Edit, besides, I blew my wad, I have $3000 in medical and $7000 in taxes coming up in the next few months, plus this $5000. There is no way I can pay $15,000 in 3 months, I only have $2000 a month until Dec, then it goes up to $3000 a month. So by next summer I may have it paid off, then I am taking my son and his family to Disneyland, and I know that going to be spendy. (like $6000 or more)

Hi Mark, I don't want to get too far off track with the thread but I'm going to back up ub4ty with his advice: be careful with those Enermax coolers.
We had three of these units at work and they all failed at around 4 or 5 months of service. Corrosion and leaking seem very common. One of the units leaked coolant and luckily only destroyed a 10GbE card in one of the workstations, other folks have lost more valuable parts of their builds. Enermax support is of course useless.

Hopefully it was just a bad batch since your coolers have been running fine for a year, but I would be extremely wary of buying anything else that says Enermax on it.

Question: Do you know if any other TR4 cooler out there for water, a 360 ? I know of none, and I would have to spend a lot on a custom water setup that I know nothing about.

No unfortunately. It's a frustrating situation because the Enermax coolers do perform well for overclocking while they are working as intended. No one else besides Enermax has bothered to make a full-coverage AIO cooler, so at the moment the choices are:
Roll the dice with Enermax.
Custom loop. Expensive like you said and requires more tinkering/maintenance than some folks want to bother with.
Asetek AIO. They work okay but from my testing are outperformed by both the Enermax coolers and Noctua's larger air cooler.
Noctua air. Performs well, just not as well as a an Enermax that hasn't sh*t itself yet.
And soon, the Wraith Ripper air cooler. It remains to be seen how it performs.

Personally I went with the Noctua NH-U14S TR4 SP3 and I've been very happy.
