hey guys, I just got one of these from frys, it's a AXDC2400DKV3C AQYHA 0352

is it a barton w/ half the L2. sorry for the dump question, it's been a long time since I've looked into OC'ing anything.
if so, where can I find a site that shows me how to unlock the L2. I've tried here and Overclockers.com, and didn't find anything, everyones' talking about the mobiles.

thanks in advance.

The cache, not the multiplier. It's possible, but there's a bridge that needs to be modded. I've been trying to find out how to do it on my Duron 1.6.
EDIT:Link Apparently it's the second L2 bridge for the Thorton that needs to be modded.

You more than made up for it, there was a link on that page on how to enable the cache on a Duron too! Only problem is that mine has the new "mod-proof" packaging.

You've got the "mod-proof packaging" that MDE mentioned in the post before yours. The bridges are covered by a thin layer of green laquer/plastic/whatever. Look at those photos and your CPU again. The copper dots you see are just markings. The contact surfaces that need to be connected are visible as dark dots through the semi-opaque protective coating. You need to carefully take a needle and scrape away this coating above each dot to be connected, so that you see the copper glimmering.

Now that Google came up with this thread (when searching for "AQYHA cache" - it's spelt Thorton, cheapgoose ;)) I've got a question. I've got a couple of Thorton 2400+, AQYHA 0403, which I've successfully modded to Athlon MPs and run in an SMP system. I've tried to activate the disabled cache, but failed.

I wonder if my failure was due to my fat and shaky fingers (and it's worth a second attempt), or if AMD have also locked the L2-modding possibilities on these post-0349 multiplier-locked CPUs?

Does anyone here know of a list of steppings or manufacturing dates as a reference to what's possible to modify? And what markings do the Thortons that have their extra 256kBs disabled due to manufacturing defect have, or is that entirely random?

I have noted that the L2-bridge that's cut on mine (A) is not the same as the ones (B) in any guides/articles I've seen.
L2 on the ones I've seen:
ABCD
|-||
My Thortons:
-|||

(| = closed, - = cut)

Has anyone here been successful with the L2 mod on newer Thortons? Which stepping/manf. date? Which bridge was cut?

I've got two Duron 1.4GHz Applebred cpu's. Both were "B" cores and hit 2050MHz at a stock core voltage of 1.50v. I tried closing the far right L2 bridge on both but the L2 cache does not increase. I have hard modded many cpu's before and sure that I got it right, so either the L2 cache just isn't there physically or they are locked somehow.
