I have a problem or at least i think i do. I bought the AMD XP 1800+ with the ECS motherboard at Fry's and the specs on the computer says it's 1.15 GHz but i thought it's suppose to be a 1.566 GHz. What is going on?? HELP please~!!!

It should read 1.533GHz. Your problem is that you need to set the FSB to 133 so that you get 11.5 x 133. Go into the BIOS and set the FSB to 133 and you are good to go.

<< hey...sorry ....but i don't know how to get into the bios...a little more help please???? >>

You either have to press delete or ESC key once you turn on the computer. It should say somewhere: "Press ____ to enter Setup."

<< it's not the cpu speed rite?? cause when i set that to 133/133 it freezes on me... >>

What kind of RAM are you using?

I think the K7S5A has a jumper somewhere that manually changes the fsb to 133. You might not be able to without it, but im not sure.

There is no jumper on board to change the FSB. It must be done in the BIOS.

<< but where in the bios is it???? >>

I am not positive because I don't have that particular bios in front of me so I can't give you accurate directions.

should be the one on the right top. frequency/cpu something or other.
check ur manual, it will tell u where exactly in the bios.
