OK guys and girls. I just moved from this:
P3 733eb
soyo 7vca
768 pc133

to this:
AMD 1600+ XP
MSI K7T266 pro2 ru
512 ddr pc2100

MY concern is heat. I have a coolermaster somthing 613 and a 80mm case fan but my cpu temp is 47 just at an idel is this mormal?

I have built appx. 20 pc's with the configuration you specified. Yes, it runs hot. I always install a lower case fan and (rear case fan or drive bay fan) all blowing into the case. Many of the newer Amd cert. power supplies come with an extra fan mounted on the outside which sucks the air through the power supply and out the rear of the case. This config. seems to work pretty well. If you have more than one hdd in your system I highly rec. the drive bay fan config.
I have not found it necessary to install the jet turbine coolmaster setup, but I'm sure it couldn't hurt.

You lot have rather good temps.

At the moment its very cold here, yet my XP 1600+ runs at 52 deg C idle with a room temp of about 16 (guesstimate).

XP1600+ running at XP1900+ and 24/7 Seti @ 34C

Copper Gladiator, turfed the noisy a$$ Delta and installed a cheapo (quiet) 5200 RPM coolermaster CPU fan and a silent 80mm 32CFM fan in the case side.

Love these 1600's 🙂

My CPU temp. averages 35 degrees C under full load with an Alpha PAL8045 and Delta 80mm fan. Loud SOB though.

Athlon XP 1700+ here.

T-Bird 1333@1500 runs at 45C Full Load with a Coolermaster DP-6I51 (5600RPM)

47 is a little warm at idle, but buy no means is it something to worry about.. my Athlon900 at work (unoverclocked) runs at like 55C all the time for whatever reason, but it runs absolutely rock solid. go figure!

your temp is A-OK.

XP 1600+ here runs at 42 C at idle and 46 C at full load, using a cheap Thermaltake Volcano6Cu.

But I plan out getting an Alpha PAL8045 with a Panaflow L for massive oc.
