I'll try it, see if it helps with my 290s

This driver was giving me TDRs on my 390x Nitro.
Went back to the March Drivers to play Doom. Was getting intermittent freezes on the newest drivers. I also made sure CF was disabled in my Doom Profile since apparently it is NOT supported.

Funny thing is this driver works just fine on my reference r9 290.

Revenger: I wonder if it had something to do with the profile for DOOM?

I will reload the new drivers tonight; make sure the DOOM profile has CF disabled and see if I have any freezes. The newest drivers didn't have problems with COD BO III.:\

Shmee: Did you get a chance to run the new driver's on your rig with DOOM?

I guess nobody can complain about lack of driver updates!

I was thinking I would have to file a support ticket on my MSI 390 Gaming because of the horrible artifacts I was getting in Fallout 4. The fans would almost never come on, and I think the temps (80s) were why. Bushes and leaves would be big blocky solid objects until I was close enough to touch them, and numerous objects would be multicolored checks. I was hesitant to make a custom fan profile because of updates bricking the cards (although that might have been fixed by now.) However, this latest driver release fixed everything. Fans now run continuously (and they are LOUD lol) but no artifacts whatsoever in several hours of play. Yay!

Can't tell if it is any faster since Fallout 4 at 1080 does not challenge the card at all and I haven't bothered Frapping it.

So happy to see vsr removed from HDTV users with notice or even a bug note acknowledging that they know of the problem.

Very annoyed with amd and vsr, first they removed functionality for people who clearly could use vsr, and now it won't even work for HDTV owners.

Irritating, but I am getting the multicolored checks again, even though I can hear my fans. I am going to have to send this card in for replacement. Anybody know how long such a process takes with MSI? Been using them (though not exclusively) for decades and I've never had to return anything.

I am going to build a Lenux box, so assuming I have to send this card in, I think I will buy a GTX 970 and put that in my primary rig, and then when I get this card back I can put it in the secondary rig, add another SSD, and dual boot into Windows to play online with my grandson when he is over. And I'll be able to continue playing Fallout.
