I have not tried it personally. But I assume it would. There is a big thread here with a lot of info in it: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2322060

Its something I have to do every time I update drivers on my AMD system, though its probably a bigger deal on a crossfire setup then single GPU. All kinds of issues with second card staying in 3d clocks at desktop and GPUZ crashing if left enabled.

Its a simple quick registry tweak to disable or alternatively, I believe MSI AB has an option to disable as well.

Hmmm my system has been great until this driver. Now I'm having issue with the screen going black while idle and not coming back up..

I have this problem since the early 13.xx drivers. It can occur from time to time, then rarely, then never...and come back a few months later.

My biggest issue right now is since early 13.xx i'm having a black screen when I deinstall the drivers...I have to force boot back up and fire up Driver sweeper...

I had this issue when uninstalling normally in the past. I have been using the AMD clean uninstall utility and havent had a problem since. Just have to remember to re-install chipset drivers afterwards if using AMD chipset....

Oh thanks for the tip, will try it next time. Intel chipset so I won't have to worry about it.

I've had the same black screen issue and found that unplugging the DVI cable from the back of my monitor and plugging it back in will wake the display up without having to do a full restart.

I found that trick didn't work. But plugging it into the Intel HD4000 graphics fixed it. Thank God for integrated graphics.

It seems that after the upgrade my previous memory speed of 1500 isn't working. Letting it be the stock 1260 seems to work fine. Since I'm not mining anymore on the 290 it shouldn't be much of an issue. I'll have to look into it a bit more..

There is a known issue about display sleep. I have display sleep disabled on my system for this reason. Basically on mine, if the display goes to sleep,it does not come back. Its an issue with zero corecrappy AMD hardware.
fixed for you.

I have the same issue with an HIS 7790 1GB card. Sleeps, won't come back.

Probably going to pick up a different video card, perhaps an NV 750ti.
