What are you suggesting with this post? That AMD is introducing a mobo with Intel-compatible sockets?
LOL!

The cooler should be good for power around 100W, or 115W like some current Opterons, this point to the 32 core Zen being clocked at about 2GHz

The coolers look to be able to handle 250W+. Remember there is a 10000-15000rpm fan rack in front of them with a tunnel. The 32c Zen is 180W from the looks of it.

This is a 300W cooler.

I m talking of 100-115W per CPU, i dont think that there will be much people that could afford a dual socket PC even with 8C/socket, indeed the total areas are comparables to the one on your post..

Also, you said 10-15K rpm, isnt it rather 1000-1500 rpm..??.

You never seen a server have you? ;)

Another little thing with PCIe 4.0. PCIe 4.0 cards only work in PCIe 4.0 slots. Not in 3.0. But a 3.0 card will work in a 4.0 slot.

Nothing recent, but still, these are very high regimes..

They have to deal with 300W, hence there s a boat load of added connectors...

10000-15000RPM fans have for many years been a defacto standard in 1-2U servers.

Its going to be a long time frame I think with boards and CPUs supporting PCIe 4.0 before we see consumer cards with 4.0. Since there is no way to use them in 3.0. That's a bit sad that we have to wait till maybe 2020 before seeing the cards as consumers.

That s litteraly F1 speed for the CPU but also the fans....

As for the 4.0 cards they have the advantage to take all their power from the PCIe, while the 3.0 will still rely on 6/8 pin connector, this could be an incentive to upgrade to the last standard even if technicaly speaking the only difference is the supply routings, people will tend to think that it s better simply because it s new.

Those fans feed right off the main 48v rail right? They can consume lots of power themselves, I have seen some 2A+ fans at that voltage.

Imagine some of that tech trickling down to enthusiast level...

By the way, how would these boards perform for gaming? :p
