Can't estimate performance improvements on tahiti by comparing it's specs with those of cayman, because tahiti stream processors and cayman stream processors will likely be different (core-next and all that).
What about the doubling of the ROP count? Doesn't that usually make a huge difference?
Agreed with what you said. Since Frostbite 2.0 will be a foundation for some future games (Need for Speed: The Run, Mirror's Edge 2), we'll definitely need a lot more powerful cards soon. I just hope there is no FX5800 or HD2900 flop from either brand. The last 3 rounds were very competitive with excellent offerings from both camps (HD4800 vs. GTX200 series, HD5800 series vs. GTX400 series and HD6900 series vs. GTX500 series). I am hoping this continues.
