I soooo want to like this show, but then they go do something so profoundly stupid that is pisses me off.

The last one had to be when rocker chick suddenly took over the software development lead role, and then summarily fired a bunch of people because they didn't know how to cheat at Adventure. Yeah, that's a sound management strategy 🙄

Oh well. Maybe I would have felt the same way about Breaking Bad if I actually cooked Meth for a living 🙂

She was operating from the viewpoint that fewer coders would be better, and the best coders are resourceful. Didn't really bother me all that much. I'm actually glad her character doesn't irritate me as much as it did in the beginning.

Call me silly, but I think that I would have also wanted to keep the employees who weren't playing games on company time to begin with.

But, yeah, I guess that doesn't make for good TV, especially considering that this show seems to exaggerate every bad nerd stereotype in the book.

I think they were all playing after hours.

Were they playing on company time? I thought it was mostly after hours and seemed like they were all playing the game.

It was a way to find the most talented people anyway.

Agreed, Cameron used the game as a litmus test to retain the best programmers IMO, h*ll John was playing as well! 🙂

The Comdex episode last week was pretty cool, but the season (series?) finale was kinda weak. Basically,
Joe flipped out and left, just like how he left IBM.

Anyone with half a brain should have seen that one coming from a mile away.

So did i miss something after joe destroyed the shipment? It just came back like weeks later and there was no mention of it. Agree that it was week. I guess joe was going to see his mom at that observatory?

That episode was the most disjointed mess I've seen in some time. Just when you think things are getting on even keel they start having all this out of left field crap. If that was the season finale they didn't give me much to keep my interest for next year.

I doubt that show is going to get renewed. It had a ridiculously low 0.5 Nielsen rating by the tail end of the show... that means that about 10 people with Nielsen boxes actually watched the show.

Still haven't watch any episodes yet, but did just go through all for Tyrant and noticed several commercials for the start of this one. The ads made it seem somewhat interesting, discussion of the show a bit less 🙂

seems like they left it off at a point where there wouldn't need a 2nd season. i don't see what they could do in a 2nd season unless it was more of the same.

The best thing about the show for me has been seeing The Strongest Man In The World as a recurring character, and a very likeable one at that.

I'm not sure where Season 2 would go though, and it definitely felt like the finale was written as an end to the series - and a fairly sloppy one at that.

I don't know. I still like the show, but I think I like it much more for its potential than for anything it's actually become. I'll still tune in for a second season if it winds up happening.

Good. I hate shows that are written with a specific story in mind and then get extended due to great ratings. I was so looking forward to Bates Motel but the second it got good ratings and they decided to make more seasons the whole thing went to shit.

I actually liked the finale a lot, but can see why people would thumb their nose at it, a lot of stuff happened that didn't really seem to fit. Glad that Gordon finally lost the beard, his face didn't seem made for it. Overall the show was a good watch, would like to see a 2nd season but if it doesn't happen this was an adequate end for me.

So it did actually end up getting renewed for a second season. I'm curious where it's going to go after where the characters all ended up and how the dynamics will (hopefully) change a bit.

Good news, was hoping for another season.

I was actually hoping that they would cancel it. They had everything pretty much wrapped up at the end of season 1.

What are we going to do in season 2... watch Cardiff make another lame assed PC clone? Not interested. Maybe they'll focus on that modem gaming service startup instead.

That's what I assume they will do.

Just finished watching this show. Overall I liked it but as it has already been stated, some parts of the story and acting seemed forced or unbelievable. The Joe/Cameron story was the weakest part of the series, while the tech (main) story was what kept me going.

Looking forward to season two, where I hope AMC can see that the main story is strong enough and it doesn't need the forced drama of season one.
