anyone that suggests that they keep refreshing the page to deny amazon.com service will be visited later by 2 black suburbans and taken to Guantanamo for questioning........

i was thinking the same thing, they are losing $175,000 just on the xbox 360 deal, and then killing the site for anybody that wants to try to shop.

lol, Im just kidding, I coulndt even get the damn Amazon page to load, I figure most people that got them are closer to the Amazon server.

This sucks, Now what am I going to do with all these controllers and AV cables I bought in anticipation of winning this?

It's funny - the slickdeals forum crashed from all the angry posters trying to vent their frustrations.

I was there are 1:59 EST. Hit refresh and never saw the page load.

Just like Woot's BOC. Never had a chance since the page never loaded.

That's called counting your chickens before they hatch.

i had a laptop and 2 desktops with amazon already loaded. at 10.59.59 refreshed one, 11.00.00 refreshed another, and 11.00.01 refreshed the last. Was able to get one. Already paid for it and received my confirmation email.

i got to the deal page in time (i loaded the page 5 minutes early only for it to load about a minute after 11), but it'd take about 5 minutes to go from page to page even with a low ping cable connect. you pretty much had to be lucky, and hope your request to access another page was dealt with before millions of other people.

It's Thanksgiving. This is probably a slow time for them. This was a real easy promotion to get lots and lots of folks to their site prior to the holiday shopping season.

Yeah, this isn't very smart if it grinds the site to a halt for even 15 minutes. I bet some network engineer is laughing and saying, "I told you so!" to a stupid marketing guy right now on a conference call.

Not getting it one thing, but not having the entire freaking website respond for that long is just frustrating.
