Update, after billing my wife's card (unauthorized) for 2 day shipping, the item shipped today! By Amazon delivery. And the arrival date changed from Wed. October 1, to Thursday October 2nd!
I think that's SIX more days from now. WTF?

LoL. That's fucked up. The better part of a month past the estimated delivery, and an extra charge for the honor. Dealing with that might get me to quit amazon.

Well I did get a $15 courtesy credit. Only took an hour and a half. So the shipping was refunded, kinda.
As explained above, I have a gift card balance of about $250 too, so I can't quit yet, I'm not giving that to Bezos.

Amazon's one of the few sites that I rarely have issues with. I mean if anyone like me who tends to order most of the stuff, you're going to encounter some BS now and then. Amazon did bury some of their customer support deep behind a.i lines and not as good in some ways as it used to be when having issues but I occasionally order from many sites and they're usually worse. I once had an order that didn't arrive for like 6 months, kept getting excuses. Once I had it, I didn't even care about it anymore. It was one of those gameboy Pi's where you turn an old GB into a multi emulator using a pi board.

Well, I broke my amazon streak today. I needed a new shower curtain, and to get free shipping, I got air filters I need for my mower(saves a trip to walmart), and some red popcorn. They say it'll be here Friday. I expect it'll come sooner than that, but no big deal if it doesn't.

Not as good as it once was, and i should cancel since it’s a shitty company, but the convenience is real. plus a distribution center within 50 miles means i’ll get things the next day a lot of times..

I own what you could call an independent Amazon store. We sell on their platform and ship things ourselves. We have stringent requirements regarding timeliness to adhere to, whereas Amazon does whatever Amazon feels like doing. We ship same-day wherever possible. Good times.

I try to avoid Amazon but sometimes it's so hard. Lot of oddball items I simply can't find anywhere else after a quick search but Amazon will have it, so it's like, do I spend more time trying to find a place that sells these or just go to Amazon and buy it right now and get free shipping.

I finally had an issue with Amazon…after 25+ years.

I ordered some Skecher “rain shoes” to wear when I take my dog out into the wet grass. I’ve “killed” a couple of pairs of cheap Rockports with the glue-on sole since we moved here…
Ordered my usual size, 12 X-Wide…didn’t fit…too tight and too short. So…contacted customer support with one of Amazon’s “off-shorian” reps to set up a return and re-order the shoes in a 13 X-Wide.
First issue…for the first time in the 25+ years, they can’t provide me with a printable shipping label.no explanation why…only a scanable QR code, which only works at an authorized UPS store…the closest to me is about 25 miles. Rep says he will authorize a FULL refund, I don’t have to return the shoes, PLUS he will ship the replacement shoes. Not ideal…since I can’t use the shoes I got, but, OK.
Next issue…he resent the same fckn size…so now I have two pairs of shoes that don’t fit.
Then, the promised refund never materialized in my bank, in my account, and no mention of it in my Amazon account.
Spent a couple of hours on Friday in chat with another “off-shorian,” who once again PROMISED me a full refund, I could keep BOTH pairs of shoes (that don’t fit) and he would ship the right size.
As of Tuesday afternoon, still no refund or even mention of it in the Amazon account, and no mention of the shoes being shipped.
So…back to the chat. Once again…(sensing a pattern here?) I’m ASSURED…You can trust me on this!” I keep BOTH pairs of shoes, which I can sell, donate, give away, or discard, PLUS a full refund since they can’t provide a printable snipping label.
Grrr…I get on the phone…HOPING to speak to someone US based…nope, back off-shore where I am once again told the same bullshit. “Keep both pairs of shoes, full refund, etc, etc.”
I know it’s probably too soon for the refund to show in the bank, (even though purchases show instantly) but there’s still no mention of any of this in my Amazon account.

ARRRRGGGHHH! Just give me printable shipping labels like you always have!

So I ordered video card on Friday, Oct. 3rd - expected delivery by Wednesday Oct. 7th. It arrived at the local Amazon facility last night.

Tracked it this morning, and it was on the truck "out for delivery" between 11:00am and 2:00pm. Tracked it again later, and it changed to 2:30pm and 5:00pm. I thought I was about to get a package on time!
It's 6:15 now, so I tracked it again. Delayed, now arriving tomorrow.

The Amazon warehouse/distribution center here is about 10 miles from my house. Apparently nothing I order is ever at that warehouse. This package started in Texas. And I guess 10 miles is a long drive for them...and I saw Amazon delivery vehicles pass my house a couple times today.

Can't say about Amazon so much but Ebay has become horrible for sellers who claim the location of the item is in the USA and then you know what happens when you track the shipment....

A shipping label gets printed, nothing happens for four or five days, then package is actually received by the carrier. Your stuff arrives two, three, four days after arrival originally estimated in the listing or during checkout, because it has actually shipped from so fah, so very fah away.....e.g. JINA! I have complained/reported this three times in Ebay forums, never a response.

Oh and apparently sellers can have negative feedback removed too now, without notifying the buyer at all, no attempt to obtain consent, nothing.

Wow that is certainly cause for concern. I guess just got to be more careful.

Always had good luck with Ebay, but my last purchase back in Feb. was a home phone to replace one of mine (3 phone system) Supposedly brand new. It arrived in the original box, with no packaging material. It would not hold a charge, was scratched to hell and slimy. It even had 30 calls in the caller ID log, going back months. 30 is all it will log. Obviously used.

It was $17, I request a return, the seller offers $2 back, then $3 back, then $4, etc. I said, the phone is gross, I don't want it. He finally offers a full refund after 4-5- days, says keep the phone. Of course I left him a negative. He then sent harassing messages for a week - why did you leave me a negative, I gave you your money back, and a free phone?
Well it was a negative experience, and I threw the phone away.
Just checked, the neg is still there.

My last ebay purchase I got the wrong thing, and heard nothing from the seller when I tried to contact them. Took it up with ebay, and I now have my money AND the wrong item. I didn't leave feedback one way or the other. Not sure what to make of the guy. I got the wrong thing quick as shit, and never heard anything else :^/

You leave him a negative. He wouldn't respond to your attempts to contact him. Let others know, so he can't do it to them too. This is why I no longer trust feedback.

Update on Amazon. It's after 2pm, and the package isn't even "out for delivery", like it was yesterday. Says it arrived back at the facility yesterday at 4:30pm, so they didn't even try to deliver it. Now it's at least 2 days late, back to normal.

Personally, I order a bit much from Amazon. But mainly deals; they're not squeezing much profit from me.

Anyway, thanks Prime!! :p

"The reporter checked every non-grocery purchase they'd made on Amazon for six months. Purchasing the same products on Amazon's "Big Deal Days" would have brought savings of just 0.6%"

This is believable, Prime Days have been mostly garbage for years now.
Compared to 10 years ago, when they were giving discounts on warehouse items during Prime, and I ended up with a $350 guitar for $125. It's got a finish crack but I'm not too fussy about that, especially for the price.
