Amazon not shipped yet

Would you cancel an order if was in stock and didn't ship after 4 days, going into a holiday weekend? Out of principle I'm thinking of doing just that. I ordered 3 of the same titled books Tuesday 8/29/06 and it still has yet to ship. WTF? 4 DAYS NOW!

BTW this is the book-Christian Faith and the Truth Behind 9/11: A Call to Reflection and Action (Paperback)

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/066423...d_rvi_gw_1/002-7167636-9303206?ie=UTF8

I'm trying to help my friends understand what happened that day.

It was the free shipping over 25.00 and it was in stock when I ordered it and is now. Why after 4 days it still has not shipped is beyond me. I have the option to cancel as long as it doesn't ship. Looks like my option of canceling will stay open for a hell of a long time.:|

They gave you an estimated ship day, which is usually like 1-2 weeks if you chose the free shipping.

Shut up and pay for shipping if you want it sooner.

The free shipping is 2 weeks. Your wait is normal. Thats why it is FREE. Because it is SLOW.

Oh, man that book makes me sad, more evidence of why Christianity has a bad name I think.

Uhhh, don't even want to get started on this book. :disgust:

While I somewhat agree, it doesn't ALWAYS take two weeks for items with free "super saver" shipping to arrive.

I've gotten items in 3-4 business days, then again, sometimes it takes 10 business days.

Yea, it usually ships a few days earlier, but then until that time passes, people have no right to complain.

True, when they ship stuff from KY to me in VA, even the free shipping can get here as fast as 2 days if they aren't busy (ie slow parts of the year when there isn't a lot of orders ahead of mine where the buyer pays for shipping).
But to be upset about it hasn't shipped yet on the 4th day is ridiculous... You didn't even say when on Tuesday you ordered them. Tuesday night is as good as ordering on Wednesday morning, so it could really be more like 3 days. Even then, today isn't over and UPS could still pick up the package tonight if it is ready.

People rave about Amazon. I have ordered from them a little but I wouldn't give them 5 stars.

They can use media mail for books if you use free shipping. Pay for overnight if you don't like to wait. *shrug*

 You even saw the estimated ship date BEFORE you placed your order.

That's what you get for using Super Saver Free Shipping. I have the Amazon Prime and I get everything in 2 days, with free shipping

Personally I have had great experiences with Amazon; been ordering from them for years.

Once they by mistake shipped my stuff to Germany (probably because I had an old shipping address there with my Amazon.de account), which of course made everything be delayed by about a month. Plus I had to pay an extra $20 at the post office to be able to collect the shipment once it finally got to me. When I complained, not only did they refund me the order 100% (even after receiving the package) but they also gave me $50 in store credit.

Likewise with a couple of books which went lost during international shipping. After I reported them as missing, they re-shipped new copies via express international shipping and I got them the day afterwards.

I don't think I trust any other online retailer like I trust them.

Love Amazon (Canada at least, wish they stocked more types of stuff...). However, recently they do seem much slower to ship, and abide by their "estimated shipping" dates. Their warehouse is about an hour's drive from where I live, so I use to get something in 3-ish days if it's in stock (super savers). Now, they really do wait the 4-5 days before shipping out.

FREE Super Saver Shipping: You can expect your order to take 3 to 5 business days longer to arrive than if you had selected our standard shipping option.
