amazon slow shipping question

I was also given an estimated shipping time of around 3 weeks for some items I ordered recently. They went out in two shipments, but both arrived in less than a week. The first package took just 3 days.

EDIT: Also, things do arrive quicker than Amazon's estimated times, which is nice, but I'd rather they used UPS. Newegg uses UPS, even with free shipping, and chances are, packages arrive in two days, instead of the purported three.

Most of the time, yes. But I placed an order Friday morning for something that was listed as in stock, and it still hasn't shipped! I just looked, & it has a delivery date of the 20th. WTF!:|

UPS isn't that good. With USPS you can ship a 15lb media package for $7. It would cost like 3x that with ups.

plus with smaller packages, nothign beats priority mail flat rate prices.

There are 3 phone support centers in the states. Just because you never get one, well, you know. Also, use the e-mail support instead of phone if you can't understand the accent.

Amazon does not ship from a warehouse in NY. There was a recent ruling that required online retailers to pay the state tax instead of leaving it up to the customer to pay.

+1 for amazon prime. Free to day and $4 next day. It's cheaper for me than spending the gas money to go to the mall.

I don't think they ship out of there. I think NY ordered them to start charging sales tax.

I should have ponied up for some better shipping for a replacement mouse I ordered. Ordered it Monday, but the estimated shipping date isn't until August 25th with an estimated arrival date of September 2nd-September 8th. I've had good luck with free super saver in the past, so I went for it. In retrospect I should have paid for shipping, or bought it from Newegg where at least it wouldn't have taken a week to put in a frigging box and send it out.

I ordered something sold and shipped my amazon and they shipped after 5 business day to ship. Another one was not sold by shipped by amazon and that one took 7 business day.
If I need something quick, i go somewhere else.
